ESSIAC TEA - PREPARATION:
Use only stainless steel or glass pots/utensils. Do not use aluminum, or plastic, either in preparation or storage of the Essiac Tea.
Prepare the tea as follows:
Bring one gallon distilled water to the boil. Add the entire package of Essiac. Simmer, covered, for ten minutes. Remove the pot from the heat, keep covered, and allow to steep for twelve hours. Reheat, but do not allow tea to boil. Strain through cheesecloth, squeezing all the tea remaining in the herbs. Pour strained tea into glass jars - never use plastic - and store in refrigerator. The tea will look murky. This is normal and due to the muscilagenous effect of the slippery elm. This does not effect flavor or feel strange on the tongue.
TAKING ESSIAC TEA AS A TREATMENT FOR SERIOUS ILLNESS
Put 4 oz prepared tea into a mug, add 2 to 4 oz hot water, and drink. This should be done 1/2 hour before each meal (it works better on an empty stomach) and before bedtime. This will be a total of four times per day You will use up two cups of your prepared tea each day. This intensive program requires one package of tea per week.
WHEN ADDING CAT'S CLAW TEA TO THE PROGRAM - Follow ~reparation directions on the package label. Put 4 oz prepared Essiac and 2 oz prepared Cat’s Claw Tea into a mug. This will total 3/4ths cup, add hot water to top, and drink. The dose should be taken V 2 hour before meals - three times per day, and again before bedtime. This will total 4 times per day.
NOTE: You may take more tea, more often, if you wish. Tinctures may be taken at the same time.
When using Essiac as a preventive measure, you will not need 16 oz per day. Instead, two doses of two oz. Essiac and 2 oz hot water, per day, should suffice. Please contact me with any questions.
